The Rural value...

The Uk is precariously placed, as an island sitting in the East Atlantic, plus we are faced with Brexit.

However this is not the major problem that the United Kingdom faces, us like the rest of the food producers across the globe are faced with what can only be described as a monstrosity, and that is what’s now out and open for us all to see.

The Great Reset is set to see a total shake down of food production down to the very roots of the crops we grow. These people from Eat Lancet and the World Economic Forum have decided that farmers shouldn’t really exist, when I say not exist I mean they shouldn’t have an identity.

Farm land to be centrally owned by governments and these organisations to control the foods grown and where they go, couple this with the apparent back slapping and growing wealth at the cost of people’s freedoms of choice then you see where the future sits. One grave misjudgement these organisations have made is the resilience of country folks and the value that these rural communities contribute to society.

Here in the Uk, agriculture is said to contribute £10.5b to the Uk economy, that’s not small money. There’s an old saying around these parts “if farming is well then the country is well”. These organisations are going to have a battle, that battle is to disrupt the rural ££££ so they can displace farmers into other jobs. Farmers are stoic, grafters that like to keep their hard earned income in the local community and there has been one stand out shining light through this god awful pandemic, and that is the warmth that has been shown towards farmers and those that work in the food industry. The public have voted with their wallets where they like to spend their money on food, the butchers are growing sales along with all farm shop outlets. The future represents a real opportunity for rural communities to grow, forget the Lancet and the WEF as these people are living in fantasy land if they think that they can break the bonds of agricultural and rural folks. Remember, never underestimate your value to your family, neighbours, village or indeed the world. We need to promote and protect what the previous generations slaved to establish.
